A Little banged up but far from an accident today. You read right. Your favorite Autistic Blog News commentator was in a car accident. 11:41 3/21/2025 Albert Street in Belleville Ontario.

We had a blue vehicle push a red vehicle into my father’s car. Damaging a significant part of the front of the vehicle. Giving me so far what is a minor painful whiplash and a bit of lingering dizziness. Feels like the kind of dizzy associated with over exercising or riding a bumper cars and a roller coaster at the same time.

I know what you are wondering. Ashton Deroy you have admitted you have autistic mask off episodes. ‘Did this happen here?” Yep thankfully my Dad and best friend Ravae were my rocks in this incident. Yes I went ‘No fucks given” loopy after this incident. Then I gradually went back to normal. Can’t screw with my head. It does disorient me. It does make me according to my counselor’s expression ‘Punch drunk”.

This will be something I talk about again later but how do we get people off the roads in Belleville Ontario?

Listen the fact is near Albert street and up to the Bayview Mall are dangerous roads to travel on. I would not be surprised if it is a common accident place. We could invest in infrastructure to light up these roads. I think it comes down to…. Listen we are too much of a car culture. There should be a time of night that you can walk outside and not see cars on the road. The fact that there isn’t? Means we are driving too much.

Since the Carbon Tax was lowered or canceled?

Other ideas to lower emissions could include:

1. Curfews on driving – This would prevent incidents like this. You could give permits to professional drivers but the average driver does not need to be out. Belleville Ontario despite the wishes of many employers is not a safe night culture. It’s just not!!! Poorly lit roads, no police presence and Reckless drivers are all too common.
2. Remove Pavement asphalt infrastructure – Less places to drive means there will be less driving. There should be areas and stuff you get to. Where you have to? Just walk or take transit to get there. Like car free cities aren’t having these issues. We are crippling people on the road. Then because of our failing healthcare system? We do nothing to rehabilitate them. They end up life long collectors of disability. (Like my mother) . Seriously more walking would be good for our health, culture and general well-being. ALSO BELLEVILLE ONTARIO SHOULD NOT BE A GIGANTIC PARKING LOT AND MALL! CHANGE IT NOW! Disgusting….
3. Raise gas prices – I still think pricing people out of driving is realistic. Even more realistic with the circumstances of today.
4. Price people out of Car Ownership – Thanks to the Trump Tariff wars? You might not even need a Liberal to do this. It might just happen anyways. Also there is raising insurance costs (Especially on elderly & new drivers). Like I will say it. Openly I want to make driving harder. Let’s make it happen people.

As I have said many times on this blog. I am not attached to your irrational freedoms. The fact is the planet is warming. Car accidents are increasing the number of people Collecting Disability. Car Culture is making everyone fat and we don’t need it. How do we change this abysmal status quo? For the Love of Belleville!
