Do Fitness Content creators have a responsibility to disclose the use of drugs or surgeries for weight loss? I am going to argue they do not.

I think the moral responsibility of weight loss content creators? Is to get people up & active. Not to approach weight loss from some unrealistic 1 size fits all approach. Like you are going to think I am simping for Fat acceptance in this regard. Cause in a sense I am standing up for this user Glitter and Lazers.

It’s one thing if a Fitness influencer says they got their body using their Fitness approach. However secretly they were doing all this medical stuff to boost their weight loss. That is a fraud in a sense. However I still think we should let it go.

It’s like Biggest Loser. The approach might be bad. Especially since they make people do cardio until they throw up. Also they secretly hired professional freak weight loss athletes & stunt actors. I still admire what they are trying to do with the end product. Despite the fact there is bad faith acting. Like using an ex Wrestler or ex body builders in Biggest loser. Despite the fact they just live with freaky fluctuations in their weight for their regular lives. I am an ex Wrestler. I am used to doing freak weight loss methods. I have been public about this. Biggest Loser maybe should disclose that some of them are freak weight loss athletes. That might be more moral however… Not disclosing it isn’t necessarily immoral.

I think weight loss and fitness content. Should be labeled like anything else we use to amuse ourselves. We should label it as entertainment. Not label it as healthcare. It’s not healthcare. When I do Jillian Michaels Kickbox fast fix? I am not doing healthcare. I am entertaining myself as an ex athlete.

If we label fitness content as entertainment? Then no one is doing anything immoral. If they get surgeries or if they take Ozempic. I truly believe entertainment is all we are entitled to in fitness content. We aren’t entitled to ultimate truths or someone’s medical information. If we can make this the new social contract? I think it would be better for people who do fitness and health content. Quite frankly even entertainment that encourages a physically active lifestyle? Is going to be an improvement for most people.

Cause the world is full of capable physical Trainers. You shouldn’t need an all natural six pack or a particular medical history. There should even be more plus sized fitness instructors. As an ex Wrestler? I was trained by a guy who could no longer take bumps, but he had wisdom! Regardless of the current state of his body. He was valuable as a trainer.
