Currency reserves are being withdrawn, Imports are down and exports of Russian Oil are down. It would stand to reason if you studied standard Economic theory. Russia is going broke! That probably isn’t the case.

Isolationism isn’t ideally for any country. However if it had to be done somewhere? Russia is one of the better countries for handling this type of isolation. Remember the USSR was a centralized Economy planned across 15 Republics. Russia has alternative allies, the ability to plan around a declining economy and Centralized messaging to be put a swing on things.

I am not saying a planned Economy like this can last forever. It can’t even last 15 years. However Russia will have some stamina in this. Allying with places like China, Belarus and Turkmenistan for example. They also get Military Imports from North Korea.

Globalism may be coming to an end. Consider events such as:

1. The International Criminal courts considering the role of Israel and their allies in the Palestinian Genocide.
2. The China and Taiwan issue.
3. The embargo on Cuba
4. 2023 Guyana–Venezuela crisis

If we are on the feet of an end to Globalism? We are going to want our Politicians flirting with stabilizing policies for the domestic economy. Stuff like planning new public jobs. Green energy jobs public or private. Universal Basic income. To make sure people don’t fall in to positions of economic despair and envy and there is a shared realization that we are all on the same team.

Russia is sort of surviving war time measures against them. The reason being this is a country with a history of switching from a planned domestic economy. Rather than a Global Free Market Economy. Which makes them adaptable to global tensions.
