This is the last of the Bay of Quinte Pride research. It’s just this organization is such a mess. That it may be above my pay grade to do any kind of internet sleuthing. I am just a Belleville Ontario Blogging Personality at the end of the day. I am not God… I am not even a Journalist with any kind of serious protection.

A culture of intimidation and harassment for Volunteers.

Are you thinking of Volunteering with Bay of Quinte Pride? We ask that you not do it. Not only should this organization be paying you as a kind of entertainment company. This organization also allows too much Intimidation and harassment of their Volunteers. It’s a top down problem. As I discussed in the post about Sabian. For more click here

I feel bitter about Bay of Quinte Pride culture personally

Here is why I feel bitter! I think what our community needs more than anything? Is dedicated Social Workers. Not a Non-Profit dedicated to Rainbow Washing local Businesses most of which serve Alcohol. I am an Alcoholic. I can admit that here. I drink then pick fights with people. Cause Alcohol multiplies personality traits I attempt to repress Sober. If Bay of Quinte Pride was more honest? Maybe the committee would own up to some substance abuse problems. Which indicate why this group is? Incredibly bar centric in Belleville Ontario.

What is missing from their web profile?

1. The latest events page on their web space is June 11 2023. This means Bay of Quinte Pride is not tying their website to the event marketing happening on their Facebook page primarily.
2. Our committee – The Committee page should show faces. There should be some contact information. Even if like my time at Seneca Pride? You have to go through a secretary to get a board member.
3. Social Media icons are broken – I don’t just mean on Facebook where I am blocked for bad publicity. They have a completely broken Tik Tok Page with 0 content. They have a broke Instagram page to.

4. The conclusion I make based on the management of their webspace? They need to be hiring someone to manage an Integrated Social Media Website. Even if it is on a Gig work basis. They can’t be bothered to do it. I know what you are thinking! ‘No this can’t be done on a volunteer basis.” This is an actual skill people go to school, take out debt and pay off to learn. I have had to reject multiple volunteer Positions in the web space management area because lack of incentive created 0 interest or I was being micromanaged without being paid.

Listen this won’t be as admirable. However I think Bay of Quinte Pride’s Mission Statement should be re-wrote. Here is something more accurate. ‘Bay of Quinte Pride’s Mission is to do LGBTQ2S+ Entertainment, exploit volunteer LGBTQ2S+ Labor for FREE and Rainbow wash Local Businesses with our Event Marketing.” Cause there is no consensus this organization advocates on behalf of LGBTQ2S+ Family and broader community. Conclusion to all this work.

I know my contact will be gas lit. That I will be called a Bully. I know Bay of Quinte Pride will continue to say they are bringing Diversity into Belleville Ontario. I also know in the eyes of many people. Bay of Quinte Pride will not be viewed as Entertainment but as an actual Non-Profit specializing in creating temporary Queer spaces. I know this logically. Since you are here though. I can ask you to NOT volunteer with this organization. As far as LGBTQ2S Non-Profits go? Look into Rainbow railroad click here. There are actually Non-Profits that make positive differences in the community both globally and locally. I hold the standard that volunteering should be done on an urgent basis. Like packaging food for needy people, Disease research & Refugee agencies. Like one of my annoying Tik Tok Contrarians said ‘No one cares if you are gay anymore.” Well I don’t know if that is true but there are for sure better volunteering operations out there.

Stop Volunteering for pointless organizations and get a real Hobby. I’ve heard video games are fun. I will be at the Pride Parade June 8th 2024. I will not be attending any of the events during Pride Season however.
