Thank you so much CBC. They published this article 1/23/2024. This is in alignment with what I am posting.
This contains information accurate as of 1/19/2024. I have to edit blogs multiple times. I do have a learning disability. It is called Autism. Also a few hits to the head. I am ok though.
Are you an International student? Maybe a domestic student? Are you looking to expand your opportunities in a difficult economy? Then I need you to hear me out. In 2024 Loyalist College is creating Problems for Belleville Ontario and we aren’t talking about it.
The problems with Belleville Ontario and Loyalist college are this. We are short on Affordable housing. The Local Employment agency does not value Loyalist College graduates. Lastly Canada has an affordability crisis.
We are short on affordable Housing in Belleville Ontario !

The custom is…. By the time you go to apply to these houses? They are already taken. It is hard to pass the credit test. Or Landlords in Belleville Ontario Discriminate racially against new tenants. If you get in? Many internationals are finding themselves surprised about a Landlord’s ability to do Rent Hikes and hidden charges. ‘I didn’t anticipate Canada would be so expensive. That Canadian landlords would be so greedy.” International Student from Loyalist College.
Our Employment agencies treat Community College graduates the same as High School dropouts. Read my post on Elevate Plus. a College Sponsored Program. Where people have to? Submit to 4 weeks of Unpaid Factory Training to get a job that will not accommodate their scheduling needs. Ok so that link includes proof the Economic value of Loyalist College Diploma will be depreciated.
Canada’s Affordability Crisis –
Important to know? Canada’s Food Banks have banned International students from utilizing them. Even here in Belleville Ontario. ‘To be eligible to study in Canada. You must prove you have the funding to take care of yourself.” CBC
A Truth no one is going to tell International Students in Loyalist College Recruiting
The cost for International Student tuition is $15,000
The cost for Domestic students is $4,030.08
The difference is 3 times the rate of Domestic Students. Listen what no one is going to say to you in college recruiting for International students? Is that for Loyalist College in Belleville Ontario. International Students are a cash cow! Not even just for the college. Most the community only intends to extract wealth from Internationals. Meaning the community uses Internationals. However they have limited access to good jobs, Steady Rentals & Social Services. (Steady rentals referring to rentals that don’t surprise you with frequent rental hikes or Hidden fees.)
Statement of prejudice and limited opportunity
‘Loyalist College is a Racist & expensive school. First of all they will say they are not racist but then from the bat. Why do I pay more to go here than domestic students? Professors also say stuff like International students always cheat.”Classmate and Loyalist College Alumni . This is a generalization about an identifiable group of people. ‘Often we find trouble getting Belleville students to work with us in groups and my friends say there isn’t much Living wage work when school is done.” Classmate and Loyalist College Alumni

If you come to Belleville Ontario? I will be happy to have you here. A lot of our internationals are serving me at Our McDonalds and Tim Horton’s. I have never had an issue with that. I am just warning you. That Canada Mainly uses are international students to rob them of their funds. We promise them potential Prosperity but then like my old colleague Avi at Best Buy. They end up working Subsistence jobs until we extract most of their individual access to funds and drive them bankrupt. There is also quite a bit of Social Media content about this as well.

Also consider the ineffectiveness of Loyalist College Diploma Programs
This is an ad for a Counselling Social Work style job in Belleville Ontario. Demanding out of the gate 3 years experience.
https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7044755646671425536/ Here is one such Social Service work Graduate working in what? A Menial Job that doesn’t require a College Education. We are being scammed…. This student attended Loyalist College’s social work program from 2016-2018. It is also a Diploma my Step Mother got. She is not working in the field either.

I have had to promise to protect people from retaliation. I don’t even get names. Yes International students are worried about locals retaliating against them!
Response Quotation worthy of being featured. Sourced from the Belleville Ontario Community Facebook page before the user blocked me.
‘Some of this is true & is not.
My Canadian parents AND me have paid into education taxes all our lives. Every working Canadian has/does. You can’t be suggesting a person who hasn’t paid ANY, EVER could be on equal footing as far as using our schools & it’s resources. As for jobs, unless you’re a Canadian citizen, or show up here with a skill nobody in the country can do, you can’t just go get a job. It’s been that way forever….. in most countries actually. Just because you’re here as a student, you’re not special, the law applies to you also.
I also understand that yes, part of a student coming here is proving they can sustain themselves while here….” Susan Smith.
Statement of bias: What about fairness? Personally I know this post comes off as Unrealistically far Left. My biases are Far Left. I never hide that. However I do think this post interjects something in to the College conversation that isn’t there and needs to be. Our International students are not treated fairly in Belleville Ontario. Now maybe it is better comparatively to a place like Toronto? Ok I can take that. I think the comments about how our institutions largely simply extract wealth from International students & push them to subsistence work are worthy of hearing. Then there is the Rent Gouging. Yes this is happening! Canada & Ontario needs to address it.
Are we falsely advertising our Schools to International students? Are we saying they will get Visas? Yet knowing that this is hardly a guarantee. Listen the fact of the matter is we need to prioritize making these institutions working for domestic students. Then we can re-think how our institutions work for the Internationals.
