I saw this in the WordPress community and I wanted to write about it.
If I could meet any Historical figure? I would meet Terry Fox.

I don’t think this should be a shocker to anyone. His Audiobook is 14 minutes long. Describes him as the Amputee who tried to run across Canada in 143 Days.

Why would I want to meet him? I want to capture that passion he used to raise awareness for Cancer Research. I want to bottle it up. Use it to fix the modern indignities facing Disabled people today. #ODSPoverty
Disabled people get $1,200 to deal with their living expenses every month in Ontario. I don’t even bother trying to just treat my Disability because it isn’t realistic. I try to get a job. Stay out in the community. Then Write about my passion projects on the side.
If I could apply his Optimism and determination? I think I could fix the Ontario Politics leading to the Progressive Conservative Pit it is currently. When I attended Seneca in 2017 I estimate. I canvassed with Shelley Carol and the Liberal party to advocate for Disabled LGTQ+ people & College students.
I am lucky. I am just an Autistic adult with minor brain damage from a Concussion. Terry Fox was an Amputee but he still trained himself to be able to run marathons. That is inspirational. Terry Fox is a Disabled icon. I’d like to think he would not care for the state of Disabled adults in Ontario today. Yes being ‘Handicapable” is great. However if you need to be a home body maybe we should enable that for a time. Jobs aren’t dignified and people aren’t healthy right now.
For my 30th Birthday I tried to tap in to the Terry Fox Spirit and I ran in Belleville Ontario’s Terry Fox Run. Click this link to read more about it.
Yes it was to raise money for Cancer research and honor my late Great aunt Lillian. However… I was also try to bottle that Optimism and determination of Terry Fox.
