Dear Faisel Front Street Dollar.
I am fine with bag check policies. If they are practiced Universally and without prejudice.
However when I feel like a rule is being used to single me out. I take it upon myself to bulldoze over that rule. I believe as a reasonable person. If you are apart of a marginalized group you can be excused if you do this as well.
At 1:00pm on February 24th. I was made to check my bag at Front Street Dollar. Well Other customers walked around freely with their backpacks.
I began to believe for some reason that I may of been targeted for this policy. Either for being LGBTQ, Disabled or Marginalized.
You are not allowed to discriminate against customers in Canada for their protected status.
I could take this incident and file a complaint with the governing body. I am not going to do this.
I am however going to make this public knowledge. To stores in Downtown Belleville. The Public is watching and paying attention to how stores enforce policies.
If need be we will use formal and corrective actions where needed. Whether it involved Politics or Litigation.
I am Ashton Deroy I have a long history of doing a Public Writing style called consumer complaint. It is protected as Fair use under the Canadian Legal system. I am legally allowed to complain about any place I spend money. I am legally allowed to have that complaint viewed freely by others.
